Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers Needed For Hospice Care Center

Hospice of Kitsap County is looking for some dedicated volunteers to give of their time and talents to make a difference in our community.  Hospice volunteers are integral members of the hospice team.  These special individuals work side by side with hospice professionals.  Currently, we are seeking volunteers to support the Hospice Care Center staff with reception, data entry, and light office duties.  Phone and computer experience are helpful, but not necessary.  We are also looking for volunteers to assist with housekeeping, gardening, and the cookie brigade.

At this time, we are specifically looking for early evening greeters at the Care Center (from approximately 6:00pm to 9:00 pm).  If you are interested in any of these opportunities, or if you have a special talent to share with the patients and families at the Care Center, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator at (360) 698-4611.

Board of Trustees

Since its incorporation as a nonprofit organization, Hospice of Kitsap County has been governed by a volunteer board of trustees who chart the long-range course of the organization. Board members represent diverse backgrounds and professional skills, but they share a dedication to our community's access to quality end-of-life care. The Board of Trustees are guided by Hospice of Kitsap County's purposes to provide a program of care for the terminally ill and their families, through an interdisciplinary team approach, providing medical and nursing care, social services, and emotional and spiritual support, including bereavement as needed, and promote public education about the principles of the Hospice of Kitsap County concept, and the services of the Hospice of Kitsap County program.

If you would like to nominate yourself, or someone you know for a position on the Board, please fill out the nomination form and mail it to: Hospice of Kitsap County, P.O. Box 3416, Silverdale, WA 98383 Attn: Executive Director.
